The beautiful Pike brothers U.S. Navy CPO shirt in Elephant Skin Hamburg Blue – a classic in new colors.
For this unique model we have chosen to produce our 1943 CPO-Shirt in 100% Elephant Skin; pure cotton, made in “Hamburg Stripe”.
The “Hamburg Stripe” is a traditional fabric that has been worn for more than 100 years by shipbuilding workers in Hamburg.
This very strong fabric is specially designed to withstand the toughest of jobs. It is very breathable and comfortable to wear.
Our Elephant Shirt is manufactured according to German quality standards in a weaving mill in Germany.
The origins of Elephant Skin weaving date back to the 19th century and the industrial revolution.
Both the machines and the new working methods demanded a lot from the workers, their work clothes and the fabrics with which they were made.
The “Elephant Skin” fabric was particularly used in large industries. This weave is extremely strong and stands up to the sparks of welding.
