KustomTech Fuel and Oil Caps

KustomTech fuel oil caps replace the stock part with a solid machined piece, in aluminium or brass. On a plainly painted tank it is often the only bright detail you see from the saddle.

Choosing your KustomTech fuel and oil caps

Two families sit side by side: the tank cap, usually vented, and the oil cap, with or without a dipstick. So check the stated use on the listing before ordering, because threads and seals differ.

Vented or sealed?

A tank has to breathe, otherwise a vacuum eventually starves the engine. If yours has no separate breather, take a vented model. Otherwise a sealed cap stops fuel weeping out in corners.

Thread and seal

Threads follow the most common original Harley-Davidson sizes. The seal comes with the cap. Hand tight is enough: forcing it crushes the seal and creates the leak you wanted to avoid.

Finish and fuel

Petrol attacks some lacquers. So wipe spills straight away, especially on polished brass. Anodised models cope better with pump overflows.

Oil cap and dipstick

On models with a dipstick, check the level with the engine warm and the bike upright. A stick that is too short or too long gives a false reading, so keep the original length. Replace the O-ring at every oil change.

Delivery and returns

The five caps are held in France and leave within forty-eight hours. As the part is small, postage stays moderate and delivery is quick. Returns are accepted within fourteen days as long as the cap has not met fuel, so offer it up dry on the tank before you fill up.
