Description
The CPO shirt was worn by Chief Petty Officers of the US Navy from the 1940s: a heavy wool overshirt, warm enough to serve as a jacket on deck. This Atlanta Brown version is cut from 460 g/m² merino wool and made in Portugal.
Wool that works
Merino is warmer for its weight than ordinary wool and softer against the skin. Worn open over a tee or buttoned over a Henley, it handles autumn rides and cold workshops, and layers under a leather jacket in winter.
Fit advice
The cut follows the original, roomy enough to wear as a light jacket. Take your usual size, or one size down for a shirt fit.
