This striped pants with suspenders set brings together two pieces made for each other. On one side, the Hold Fast Folsom Prison in 14oz denim. On the other, the blue Pike Brothers 1937 Heavy Duty braces. As a result, you build a complete convict outfit in a single order.
The horizontal blue and white stripes of the pants echo the navy bands of the braces. The look stays coherent and never feels like a costume. Moreover, the set saves you €40 compared with buying both pieces separately.
The Folsom Prison pants in 14oz denim
Hold Fast cuts these pants from a 14 ounce, 100% cotton canvas. The fit follows the lines of the 1930s. The details, however, suit everyday wear.

The Pike Brothers 1937 Heavy Duty braces
The braces measure 45 mm wide. Their light bands carry navy stripes. On the back, a black leather Dutch cross shows the Pike Brothers logo. In addition, the leather tabs button straight onto the pants.

How to measure
- Lay a pair of pants that fits you perfectly flat, smooth and without creases.
- Measure the waistband from edge to edge in centimetres. This is the flat width, not the full waist circumference.
- Compare this value with the “Flat waist width” column to find your US size.
- Finally, check the inseam on a long pair that fits you, from the crotch seam down to the hem.
Tips for the right fit
- Between two sizes? Take the larger one. Heavy denim relaxes slightly with wear and shrinks back in the wash.
- Generous length: the pants come in a 34″ US length from size 30. You can therefore shorten the hem or roll it up.
- Rolled cuff: allow an extra 10 to 15 cm for a convict-style cuff that shows the Hold Fast label.
- Riding comfort: on a Bobber or a Chopper, a slightly roomy thigh feels better. No need to size down.
- Braces: pick the Reg version up to about 1.85 m (6′1″), and the Long version above that.
