Shirt-Marin-Pike-Brothers-1943 Black
a U.S. Navy CPO Shirt – a sturdy classic outdoor classic shirt.
The life of a sailor is rough so their clothes, must be adapted to the rough sea conditions, storm, freezing wind and sea spray, this beautiful shirt has been designed to withstand the most hostile weather conditions.
In factories and weavings over the years certain materials have imposed themselves in the navy.
The 1943 CPO Shirt is one of the strongest shirts that appeared in the U.S. Navy.
Both the cut as well as the materials used, which have been developed since the 30’s, have only been slightly modified over the years.
For this superb version, we have chosen an authentic vintage cut from the 1940s.
It features two large pockets on the chest, and it brings ease and freedom of movement.
It was originally made in thick wool. Today we used moleskin, sometimes called English leather, which is a heavy cotton satin brushed on one side.
Moleskin is a fabric that is very commonly found among work clothes because it is very durable.
The warp is usually made of a thick twisted yarn while the weft is made of a softer yarn. After weaving, the reverse side of the fabric is brushed which gives it a soft touch reminiscent of suede.
