During the 19th century during the industrial revolution century we find this very special fabric called “Elephant skin”, literally elephant skin. It was worn by the forensic workers, the roofers, the blacksmiths, in the factories of bolts or rivets, those workshops where the red-colored metal sparks burned the clothes of the laborious workmen.

The canvas had to hold this hard treatment and be both flexible and resistant like an elephant skin

This elephan skin vest, with a resistance that approaches that of leather even if it is made entirely of cotton.

German made in their legendary spirit of quality, this “elephant skin” has a weight that reaches 520 g / m2, its frame is exceptionally fine and braided using techniques of the time.
